We have all likely experienced the calming effects that music can have on the mind, body, and soul, but with solfeggio frequencies, you can take these healing benefits one step further.
Vibration is everything; every vibration has its own frequency. By exposing the mind and body to Solfeggio frequencies you can easily achieve a greater sense of balance and deep healing. Through vibration, the Solfeggio frequencies align you with the rhythms and tones that form the basis of the Universe.
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
– Nikola Tesla
Solfeggio frequencies are specific tones of sound that can tune into different chakras, or energy centres, in the body to promote healing. Sound creates a vibration in atoms, and depending on the frequency of this vibration, it can affect the body in different ways.
In this guide, I share all I know on how you can use the power of solfeggio frequencies on your healing journey.

The History of Solfeggio Frequencies
Solfeggio frequencies have been in existence in the world since life began, and the first sound occurred. But they were not formally defined until the early 11th century by the Italian Benedictine monk named Guido of Arezzo.
Guido was searching for a way to teach music to the church choir, and he came up with a scale of six notes, which he named “Ut, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, and La” to correlate with the musical notes “C, D, E, F, G, and A” respectively.
The solfeggio scale was later rediscovered in the 1970s by Dr. Joseph Puleo. He studied the electromagnetic sound frequencies of this scale, created the solfeggio frequencies measured in Hertz, and revealed these frequencies’ healing benefits.
Solfeggio Frequencies are reputed to be the original frequencies used by the Gregorian Monks when they chanted in meditation. The chant, based on the original six notes penetrates deep into the conscious and subconscious mind, drawing forth emotional reactions which we are sometimes unable to completely control.
What Are the Nine Frequencies?
The nine solfeggio frequencies are part of the classic six-tone scale that many forms of sacred music incorporated. Each frequency is measured in hertz, which is defined as one cycle every second. Whether played alone or in harmony, many musicians and healers find the frequencies spiritually powerful in their ability to balance energy and harmonise the mind, body and soul.
What Do They Mean?
Each frequency represents various benefits, from relieving pain to releasing negativity and enhancing emotional well-being. Below is a brief description of each frequency and its benefits. I have also included an example from YouTube which I use for the particular frequency.
All videos are from Meditative Mind, I cannot recommend their channel on YouTube enough.
Pain & Tension: 174 Hz
As you listen to the healing music wash over you, observe your breath gradually become slower and more relaxed as you drift into a state of quiet meditation. Continue to meditate as the healing frequencies relax your muscles and alleviate any pain or tension.
Energy, Safety & Survival: 285 Hz
Being associated with the colour red, the root chakra regulates the energy associated with instinct, survival and safety. If you close your eyes, you may see the colour red in front of you.
Release Guilt & Fear: 396 Hz
As you listen, this frequency will start to work of dissipating feelings of guilt and fear, and help cleanse trauma. This frequency is associated with the root chakra, or Muladhara. This is our body’s most primal and fundamental energy centre, located at the base of our spine.
Release Past Trauma & Negativity: 417 Hz
Experience relief as negative influences and experiences of your past are slowly removed from your consciousness. 417 Hz is associated with the Sacral (Svadhishthana) Chakra. You can help in its activation by imagining the colour orange as the healing frequency fills your being.
Heal DNA, Clarity & Peace of Mind: 528 Hz
This is the Love frequency / Miracle tone, said to heal your DNA and cleanse you of sickness and disease. 528 Hz is associated with the solar plexus chakra and the colour yellow, and also said to be linked to the heart chakra (love). The healing effect can be amplified by steering your mind’s eye turn to the colour yellow.
Heal Interpersonal Relationships: 639 Hz
This is frequency that heals our interpersonal relationships and re-connects us with loved ones. As you meditate, let your mind’s eye turn to the colour green, which resonates with your heart chakra and the 639 Hz frequency. While meditating, focus on the gift of life and your love for family and friends.
Solve Problems, Improve Emotional Stability: 741 Hz
Let your mind expand as it’s filled with solutions to problems and new ways to express yourself. As you meditate, let go of expectations, of thoughts of the past and the concerns for the future. Allow your troubles and worries to unwind and let your being free into the universe to express itself without limitation. See the colour blue washing over you as you feel the activation of your throat chakra.
Harmony with Universe & Self: 852 Hz
When listening you will feel the heightening of your intuition as you move into alignment with the universe. Let the colour indigo bring you in sync with your third eye chakra, offering deeper intuition and a healthier, more stable emotional disposition. e852 Hz enables you to connect with the ever-present spirit of the universe, bringing you back to harmony with your higher self.
Oneness: 963 Hz
This completes your awakening with the interconnectedness and Oneness of the universe. Some people experience a pure, bright light filling their vision, as the crown chakra activates and you feel fully at one with yourself.
Why listen to Solfeggio Frequencies?
Different articles and videos out there will say that different Solfeggio Frequency music can heal ailments, reduce anxiety, banish negativity from your life, heal the DNA structure in your cells, open chakras, bring out your higher, loving self, and other claims. Who doesn’t want healing from various ailments, anxiety, or even move to a higher spiritual plane as a result of listening to this type of music?
How To Use Them with Meditation
If you’re keen on enhancing your spiritual and physical well-being in a variety of ways such as being kind to others, doing yoga or reading a daily horoscope, the idea of meditating with the nine solfeggio frequencies may appeal to you.
Find the Frequencies: First, search online for video or audio content that you can either download or play from your computer or mobile device. You may also choose to download a meditation or music app that features solfeggio content to your device.
Play the Frequencies: Here are a few ways to enjoy the frequencies, from background to meditation music:
- Enjoy them as background music while you’re relaxing in the present moment
- Play them as you sleep. If you share your sleeping space, you may want to invest in a pair of wire-free headphones.
- Use them as mood music as you do yoga or stretch.
- Pair a mantra or meditation with a complementary frequency. For example, if your daily meditation focuses on hope and healing, playing a 528 Hz frequency piece of music supports and strengthens your intention.
They work for me
I have been listening to different Solfeggio music frequencies as I work, when I need to raise my vibration, and to meditate with (as sometimes home life is noisy). It’s calming music for sure, and I DO feel a sense of greater energy. Can I definitively say it has made a difference? yes, 100%. I love them, and use different frequencies on a daily basis.
But is it too good to be true?
Interestingly, there aren’t a lot of research studies out there on the healing power of Solfeggio Frequency music. These frequencies are often paired with binaural beats, which do have sound scientific evidence for helping with sleep, meditation, relaxation, anxiety, focus, etc. It can even be used to put people in trance states.
A Natural Gravitation to Music
I will say that humans, in general, seem to navigate towards music for a variety of reasons: religious services, to relieve stress, as background music at a party, as a way to express our feelings. Because of this, it’s not a huge leap to say that Solfeggio music can have healing properties, especially given that it is subdued and relaxing anyways. Then again, so is classical music. Gregorian monks also used a six-tone scale for their chants consistent with the Solfeggio frequencies. They experienced great energy, needed little sleep and had other benefits, as referenced above.
Solfeggio Healing Frequencies – Final thoughts
Different types of music lead to varying levels of feelings in us. Although listening to your favourite music can be relaxing, you can gain a deeper level of calmness, connection, and healing by listening to the right frequencies. Therefore, listening to music tuned to any of the solfeggio frequencies is a smart choice.
That way, you can enjoy its unique, uplifting, and soothing effects. You can also take the step further to choose your solfeggio frequencies to amass their benefits. Whether you prefer to have them accompanying your daily activities, meditation, or sleep, you can embrace a whole new level of refreshing calm.

Hi Adam,
I was not familiar with Solfeggio healing frequencies until now, and i must say, after listening to the Meditative Mind, they do sound quite soothing. I would definitely have an easier time meditating while listening to that music. Plus, I could use the to help with those nights when trying to sleep is difficult.
I also had no idea that these frequencies help with healing the body. But, I must say, that all the different frequencies seem to release different emotions. I will have to continue to visit your site to learn more.
Hi,
Solfeggio frequencies are excellent ways to raise your vibration, and while I prefer meditating in silence, it is not always possible where I live, so Solfeggio frequencies are an excellent alterative sometimes. They are also great just just to chill or sleep with.
I hope you enjoy using them as much as I do.
Thanks.
Adam
